Manufacturer issues new Ortho Evra side effects warning
Ortho-McNeil, maker of the Ortho Evra birth control patch, says that users face an elevated risk of birth control patch side effects compared with uses of traditional birth control pills. The company says that because the Ortho Evra birth control patch delivers a 60% higher dose of estrogen than does the pill, users are more likely to suffer Ortho Evra side effects such as blood clots, heart attack and stroke. Dozens in Missouri, Illinois file Ortho Evra lawsuit
Two dozen women in Missouri and Illinois have filed an Ortho Evra lawsuit against Ortho-McNeil, the manufacturer of the popular birth control patch. The Ortho Evra lawsuit contends that using it caused the women to experience severe Ortho Evra birth control patch side effects—including blood clots, heart attack, stroke and even death—their Ortho Evra lawyer says. Woman who suffered blood clot files Ortho Evra lawsuit
Stephanie Sanchez, a 37-year-old woman from Roseville, California, has filed an Ortho Evra lawsuit against Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals. Sanchez claims that she suffered serious birth control patch side effects after using the Ortho Evra patch. Many doctors say Ortho Evra patch is too dangerous to prescribe
Many doctors have stopped prescribing the Ortho Evra patch to their patients in an effort to protect them from deadly birth control patch side effects. On November 8, 2005, the Food and Drug Administration announced that using the Ortho Evra patch increases a woman’s risk of birth control patch injuries, such as blood clots, heart attack or stroke.
